The Highlander Steakhouse, Tagaytay Highlands

This cabin-looking place is none other than The Highlander Steakhouse at Tagaytay Highlands, a restaurant where only the most tender cuts of steak and dreamy desserts can be found. The place itself had a cabin-like structure both interior and exterior. Animal-head displays were hung around the walls while deer horns were incorporated in chandeliers. I found the intention of the designer to be very realistic. What better way to design a steakhouse than hang the animals you’re consuming around you, right? Nonetheless, the displays weren’t really a bother because of its high ceiling. I think what pulled together the whole idea behind this theme was the lighting. It’s impressive how much lighting can change a perception. Despite the high ceiling and deer heads (which clearly suggest a cold atmosphere), I still managed to feel cozy in this space. This is because yellow lights were used all around the area, creating the perfect warm ambience the place needed. Because the restaurant was located in the highlands, the whole theme definitely suited its vicinity. I can’t wait to go back to this unique place when I visit the Philippines again.
